In a moving ceremony Thursday night at City Hall, several Amesbury firefighters were sworn in by City Clerk Jennifer Smith before loved ones pinned emblems on their uniforms. Adding to the significance of the event, it has been years since the city conducted a mass swearing-in ceremony for its firefighters.
