Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic to be arraigned on assault charge

BOSTON (WLNE) — Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic is expected to be arraigned Tuesday on an assault charge stemming from a domestic incident, according to the Associated Press.
Lucic’s wife called Boston police to their apartment in the North End early Saturday.
A police report said Lucic was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery on a family member. That charge carries a maximum penalty of two-and-a-half years in prison.
According to the report, Brittany Lucic said on the phone that her husband tried to choke her. When officers arrived, she said he had pulled her hair, but did not try to strangle her.
The Boston Bruins said Lucic was taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team.
The organization said it was aware of the incident and “takes these matters very seriously.”
