According to reports, a previously deported illegal alien from Mexico, Brandon Ortiz-Vite (25), has been arrested and charged with murder and multiple other felonies in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Ruby Garcia in Kent County, Michigan.
Ortiz-Vite was taken into custody after police found Garcia dead with multiple gunshot wounds on the side of a highway.
He admitted to shooting Garcia with a firearm he had illegally purchased.
ICE officials confirmed Ortiz-Vite was deported in 2020 but had since returned illegally.
He also had pending charges from 2020 for drunk driving and driving with a suspended license, as well as other run-ins with the law in 2017-2018.
Ortiz-Vite remains in jail without bail facing life imprisonment over the charges.
