If there are no Cold Stone Creamery locations near you, don’t fret: Salt & Straw teamed up with Taco Bell for its own spin on the Choco Taco. The collaboration comes with fun, flavorful sauces to dress up your chocolate ice cream taco, like Chocolate Chili and Cinnamon Wild Berry. Available at Salt & Straw locations and online, the collaboration will be released sometime in the summer of 2024.
As for whether any chocolate ice cream tacos can be bought at stores, the answer is still no. In much happier times, one was able to pick up a Choco Taco in the grocery store, along with other food essentials like milk and eggs. After Klondike discontinued its Choco Taco in 2022, no ice cream brand has yet taken the initiative to fill this senseless gap in the market. While Cold Stone Creamery does sell some products in grocery stores, the selection is limited to mostly flavored coffee pods.
If the company doesn’t expand past its current offerings, all hope is not lost. Tasting Table’s Klondike Choco Taco-inspired ice cream sandwich can fill the void. Made with crispy pizzelle cookies, the ice cream taco is filled with creamy chocolate and topped off with nutty almonds, resulting in a delicious dessert that will make you forget all about the short-lived ice cream taco offerings.
