Free elder assets workshop
BILLERICA — The Council on Aging offers a free asset protection presentation by certified elder law attorneys Patrick Curley and Lucy Budman of Curley Law Firm LLP on Thursday, May 9, at 2 p.m., 25 Concord Road.
The presentation, “Estate Plan Survival Kit: What you need to protect your family, your assets, and your independence as you age,” will address steps to take to avoid guardianship, conservatorship and probate; the pros and cons of revocable and irrevocable trusts; and peace-of-mind planning to be prepared for “what if” scenarios.
“Elder law education is part of my mission to help seniors in Billerica and surrounding Merrimack Valley and North Shore communities better protect their independence and assets for the future,” Curley said.

Mystery/comedy play

BILLERICA — The Shawsheen Tech Alumni Association invites alumni and guests to a 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, May 11, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, 100 Cook St. Admission is $10 per person, kids 12 and under are free.
