Vendor workshop

During this free workshop, Lévesque will give the inside scoop on how to navigate the local arts market opportunities. Free elder assets workshop

BILLERICA — The Council on Aging offers a free asset protection presentation by certified elder law attorneys Patrick Curley and Lucy Budman of Curley Law Firm LLP on Thursday, May 9, at 2 p.m., 25 Concord Road.

The presentation, “Estate Plan Survival Kit: What you need to protect your family, your assets, and your independence as you age,” will address steps to take to avoid guardianship, conservatorship and probate; the pros and cons of revocable and irrevocable trusts; and peace-of-mind planning to be prepared for “what if” scenarios.

“Elder law education is part of my mission to help seniors in Billerica and surrounding Merrimack Valley and North Shore communities better protect their independence and assets for the future,” Curley said.

Mystery/comedy play

WESTFORD — Blanchard Middle School presents its spring production of “The Night I Died at the Palace Theater,” on Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10, at 7 p.m., Blanchard Middle School, 14 West St. Tickets are $12 online, $10 students; $15 at the door 45 minutes prior to each performance, cash or check only. The mystery/comedy was written by Pat Cook, also the author of “Death and Taxes and Three Murders” and “It’s Only Monday!” The play is produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

Plant sale

DRACUT — The Dracut Garden Club is having its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to noon, Harmony Hall Grounds,1660 Lakeview Ave. Pick up some annuals, perennials, vegetables, herb plants and hanging flower baskets. BILLERICA — The Shawsheen Tech Alumni Association invites alumni and guests to a 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday, May 11, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, 100 Cook St. Admission is $10 per person, kids 12 and under are free. Participants will enjoy guided building tours and reconnect with current and retired staff, as well as family and friends. As part of the celebration, guests will be treated to a traditional Shawsheen breakfast in the cafeteria, prepared by the in-house food service team.
