The damp weather continues into the weekend

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It was an unsettled day when it came to the weather, and this is likely the start of a wet pattern over the coming days.

Tuesday was a beautiful day with high temperatures getting into the low 80s for some areas in western Massachusetts. The nice weather didn’t last long as we saw rain that was heavy at times during the day on Wednesday.

The rest of the week into the weekend looks to be unsettled with multiple chances of showers and cooler temperatures.

This is because of a cold front that came through on Wednesday morning that produced heavy rain and allowed low pressure from the west to build in. The area of low pressure is causing a dip in the jet stream and allowing for cooler temperatures and scattered showers to be around for the next couple of days.

A washout is not expected at all going towards the end of the week into the weekend, but it will be helpful to keep the umbrella nearby.
